Our story
About us
From running releases to building the tools for them
Our founders spent years leading delivery and release management in large engineering organizations before they built the tools they had been missing.
Yuri Kudin and Yuri Lapin started as consultants at Ciklum and went on to become Engineering Directors at DraftKings. In Europe and the US they led Agile and Lean transformations and ran PMOs, delivery and release management. Together with Ruslan Lobarev, a full-stack engineering lead and the first developer behind the apps, they turned that experience into apps for the Atlassian Marketplace.
The aim hasn’t changed since: make the job of release and program managers easier, from the release roadmap to the release notes, inside Jira, where the work already lives.
On 23 February 2021 the founders set up Y2 Engineering sp. z o.o. in Warsaw to run the apps as a company. Since then it has become an Atlassian Gold Marketplace Partner, recognized five times in Atlassian’s Partner of the Year awards.
Since 2024 Y2 Engineering has also owned journy.io, a growth platform for SaaS companies. It is a separate product with its own website; Release Management Apps remains our core business.
